It appears that Sprint has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge on its network. The only caveat here is that the carrier appears to be rolling out the update first for those who participated in the Galaxy Beta Program last year. This means that users who didn’t participate in that program may have to wait for a couple of weeks before they get on Nougat as well.

Android 7.0 Nougat beta users on Sprint have received a notice from the carrier today which confirms that it has started rolling out the official software version for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge on its network. The notice confirms that this update is first going to be released to those who participated in the Beta program.

Samsung launched this program last year to enable Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge owners to have their say in the development of Android 7.0 Nougat for these devices. Users were able to test new beta builds of the software and then provide the company with feedback.

Beta participants on Sprint are now receiving the over-the-air update notification for the jump up to the official version of Nougat. For those who are already running a beta build of Nougat, this update file will weigh in at less than 170MB. Sprint is yet to confirm when it’s going to release the update for everybody.
