YouTube has offered the live streaming feature for several years now but now it’s moving into the mobile live streaming game in a big way, taking on the likes of Facebook Live. The Google-owned company today announced that it’s rolling out the mobile live streaming feature to more creators and promises that the rest of its users will soon get this feature as well.

Starting today, creators with more than 10,000 subscribers will be able to use the mobile live streaming feature from the YouTube app on their mobile device. The rest will receive the feature soon.

This new feature gives creators an instant way of connecting and sharing with their subscribers. It’s built right into the YouTube mobile app so all they need to do in order to stream live is fire up the app, hit the capture button, and instantly connect with their audience live.

Mobile live streams on YouTube can be searched for, discovered through playlists or recommendations, and also protected from unauthorized use. The company has also launched its Super Chat feature today.

It’s a new monetization tool available to creators in more than 20 countries. The feature enables viewers to support their creators by purchasing chat messages that are highlighted in bright colors and stay pinned to the top of the chat window for up to five hours.
