Apple’s iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil are both expensive purchases, and many have balked at the price of the Apple Pencil which is essentially a glorified stylus. However based on reviews, it seems that many are praising the Apple Pencil’s functionality especially with the iPad Pro.

However if there is one universal qualm we’re sure that most, if not all, iPad Pro owners can agree on, it is the keeping of the Apple Pencil. At the moment there is no “safe” way of stowing the stylus away, but a recently discovered patent by Patently Apple, it seems that Apple is exploring some ideas.

One of those ideas involves creating a Apple Pencil holder which can be attached to existing accessories like the Smart Cover. If you’ve ever seen a pen/pencil holder for diaries and notebooks, this is pretty much the same thing, except for use with the Smart Cover. However this is more than just a holder as the patent describes how Apple plans to strengthen it with the use of different materials to prevent it from tearing off, thus resulting in the user losing their Apple Pencil in the process.

However as is the case with patents, it’s hard to say if or when Apple will implement it. We have heard recent rumors that Apple might integrate magnets into the next-gen Apple Pencil, but whether or not that is true remains to be seen, and we might have to wait for Apple’s rumored March event to find out.
