It has only been over a year since Apple came out with its mobile payments service called Apple Pay. Since then, the company has been gradually expanding the reach of its service to more markets across the globe. It has been reported over the past week that the service could be making its way to Germany and Ireland in the near future. It appears that Apple Pay is headed to Italy as well.
Apple’s website for Italy now has a page that’s just about Apple Pay. The page explains what this service is and how it works. This is a big indication that the company is gearing up to launch Apple Pay in Italy.
While the company is yet to provide the details related to the launch of its mobile payments service in this country, the page does mention that partners in Italy include UniCredit, Carrefour, and Boon with both MasterCard and Visa supporting the service.
Apple appears to be focusing on rolling out Apple Pay to more countries across Europe. The service is expected to make its way to Ireland very soon as well. It goes without saying that Apple will further expand Apple Pay to more markets across the globe throughout this year.
