We’ve seen a lot of smartwatch-related announcements this week as manufacturers have timed their announcements to coincide with Baselworld 2017 which is the largest annual trade show for the watch industry. Casio has jumped on the bandwagon as well. The company has announced its Smart WSD-F20S smartwatch, this limited edition wearable device is based off Casio’s Pro Trek Smart WSD-F20 smartwatch.

Compare the specifications between these two smartwatches and you’ll find a lot of similarities. It has a 1.32 inch dual layer LCD display and the same built-in GPS that debuted on the earlier model. The display can turn to monochrome if the battery needs to be conserved.

What sets the WSD-F20S apart is the blue and black color scheme that’s unique to this smartwatch. The sapphire crystal happens to be more resistant and the entire case has been ion plated. These subtle tweaks give the smartwatch more character, particularly when compared to the previous model which had a bright orange color.

Casio does point out that this is a limited edition smartwatch and that it’s only going to produce 500 units of the WSD-F20S. It hasn’t confirmed when the smartwatch is going to be released and how much it’s going to cost. What’s known is that it’s powered by Android Wear 2.0 so customers will get access to all of the new features that this software has to offer.
