Is music streaming the way of the future and the way we consume music? Perhaps it might, especially if the numbers are anything to go by. In a report from The Verge, it seems that Drake’s latest “More Life” release has proven to be a hit amongst streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify.

According to the numbers, More Life managed to see a whopping 61.3 million streams on its first day on Spotify, which is a record for the service. However on Apple Music, the numbers are much higher at 89.9 million times. Yes, that’s how many times More Life has been streamed by users around the world on the very first day itself.

Considering that Spotify has considerably more users in total compared to Apple Music, seeing Apple outpace Spotify is certainly quite an impressive feat. In addition to beating streaming records, it seems that it managed to set a new record on the Beats 1 radio show as the episode of OVO Sound Radio on Saturday was apparently the biggest Beats 1 show to date.

Now whether or not Drake’s More Life project is something you might be interested in is a different story, but if you’re curious to see what all the fuss is about, fire up either Spotify or Apple Music and take a listen.
