The great thing about owning wireless chargers is that you don’t need any wires, meaning that no more tripping over them, no more accidental disconnections, and best of all, freedom to play in any position you want. However the downside is battery life which means that you’ll have to constantly make sure that they are charged.

Now there are multiple ways that one can charge their Xbox controller, and Energizer is one of the companies that has provided a solution in the form of an Xbox controller charger. However it seems that there might be some issues with the charger which is why in a notice posted by the CPSC (via Consumerist), 121,000 Energizer Xbox controller chargers are being recalled.

The CPSC’s website reads, “The company has received 24 reports of the chargers overheating and deforming the charger’s plastic cover, including 6 reports of chargers emitting a burning odor. No injuries have been reported.” They add, “The chargers are black plastic and measure about 3.5 inches long, 5 inches wide and 11 inches tall.  “Energizer®” is printed on the charger’s label. Item number 048-052-NA is printed on the bottom of the chargers. The chargers hold up to two XBOX controllers.”

If you do own a charger or know someone who does, you should probably return them ASAP. The CPSC has advised customers to contact Performance Designed Products to return the chargers and to get a full refund.
