Samsung confirmed during its keynote at the Mobile World Congress 2017 last month when it’s going to officially unveil the Galaxy S8. The new flagship is going to be launched in less than two weeks. The company also revealed that it’s going to ship with a pair of AKG-branded earphones. New photos have leaked online which claim to give us a look at the Galaxy S8 AKG earphones.

In case you’ve not been following the news, you might be wondering why AKG-branded earphones are going to be included in the Galaxy S8’s box. AKG is, after all, a brand owned by Harman Internation.

Samsung actually decided to acquire Harman International last year for $8 billion. The deal has jumped through all regulatory and legal hoops and has now been closed which means that Samsung owns Harman.

The first Samsung product to come with AKG-tuned audio is the Galaxy Tab S3 that Samsung unveiled at MWC 2017 last month. AKG’s audio technology is gradually going to make its way to the company’s smartphones as well.

The AKG-branded earphones that are reportedly going to be shipped with the Galaxy S8 look like you’d expect a pair of earphones to and there’s no way to ascertain right now how good they are so we’ll have to wait until March 29th when the Galaxy S8 is unveiled to find out more about them.
