Last week NVIDIA posted a teaser on its website which seemed to hint that the company had a new GPU that they were about to unveil. According to the information that was datamined, it was suggested that we could be looking at the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, and sure enough the information was right.

NVIDIA has officially announced what they are calling their fastest gaming GPU ever in the form of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Given that the GTX 1080 was announced last year, this is basically part of NVIDIA’s “Ti” lineup of GPUs which is designated to be the company’s top of the line offering.

According to NVIDIA, they are boasting that the GPU will be able to deliver up to 35% more performance compared to the regular GTX 1080, and that it will also come with 11GB of GDDR5X VRAM that runs at a staggering 11Gbps. The company is also claiming how the GTX 1080 Ti is faster than the Titan X Pascal that costs $1,200, so basically what you will be getting is a more powerful GPU for almost half the price.

It is also less power hungry at 220 watts versus the Titan X that requires 250 watts. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will be available on the 10th of March with pre-orders beginning on the 2nd of March and it is priced at $699. In the meantime if you can’t quite justify the $699 price tag, the regular GTX 1080 will have its price dropped to around $500 which makes it ever so slightly more affordable.
