Now here’s an announcement that quite a few Mac users are going to love. Microsoft has announced that Outlook 2016 for Mac is getting support for Google Calendar and Contacts. This feature has been made available to the Office Insider Fast community first and will soon be rolled out to everybody. Microsoft says that it’s very excited about delivering this highly-requested feature for Mac users and bringing that app at par with the Outlook apps for iOS and Android.

This will enable users with Google accounts to stay in control of their day via Outlook for Mac. Microsoft has said that it’s going to closely manage the rollout of this feature to Insiders and that it’s going to gradually expand availability over the next few weeks.

Google Calendar and Contacts integration in Outlook 2016 for Mac will be available for any and all users later this year. This update will enable Outlook for Mac to sync with Google Calendar and Contacts. All changes will update automatically back and forth with Gmail or Outlook for iOS and Android so that everything remains perfectly synced across different devices.

Microsoft reiterates that not all Insiders will see the new Google account experience immediately. It’s going to closely monitor the feedback and expand the availability of this feature to Insiders over the next few weeks.
