Based on the demand that we are still seeing of Google’s Pixel phones, it is safe to say that many are curious as to how Google’s 2017 Pixel phones will hold up, and if they will bring about the changes and improvements that everyone has been asking for. The good news is that information about the alleged handsets have begun trickling in.
According to a report from Android Police, they have gotten information from a source that has corroborated what they have previously heard about Google’s upcoming phones, and that the codenames for both Pixel devices might have been revealed as “Muskie” and “Walleye”, which in case you’re unfamiliar, are names of fish. Given that the previous Pixel phones were codenamed “Marlin” and “Sailfish”, we guess this doesn’t really come as a surprise.
Also given that muskies tend to be pretty big, it might be a safe bet to say that it could be the larger Pixel XL handset, or whatever Google plans on calling the phone this year. Unfortunately apart from the name, not much else is known about the upcoming phones, although we have heard some rumors.
Apparently Google’s 2017 Pixel phones will be waterproof (or water-resistant). Google had ran out of time last year during the development of the phone and they reportedly have plans to make up for it this year. We’re also hearing rumors that Google could ditch the headphone jack, and that the Pixel handsets will be premium devices, but until we get the official information, take it with a grain of salt for now.
