It was revealed several days ago that the original Huawei Watch would soon receive its Android Wear 2.0 update. This was revealed by Huawei Deutschland which informed owners that they should expect to receive the new update on their smartwatch by the end of this month. The company has made good on its promise to send the update out this month because multiple reports have now emerged confirming that the original Huawei Watch Android Wear 2.0 update release is now underway.

Android Wear 2.0 is the latest iteration of Google’s operating system for wearable devices. it was actually supposed to be released late last year but the company decided to delay the release by a couple of months as it felt the need to polish the software even more.

Google started rolling out Android Wear 2.0 about a month ago and some existing smartwatches have already been updated to the new software. Some of the new features in this update include a native Google Play Store app, an on-screen keyboard, user interface improvements, Google Assistant, Android Pay, additional customization options, and more.

It goes without saying that since this is a phased rollout, it will take some time before all original Huawei Watch owners across the globe receive this update on their smartwatches but at least they can now rest assured that soon they will be running the latest version of Android on their smartwatch.
