There has been quite a bit of criticism leveled at Apple’s iPhones in the past year or so, with quite a few complaining of how “boring” they were in terms of design and features. However all of that is expected to change with the upcoming iPhone 8 which many analysts believe will lead to another iPhone super cycle.

Now according to a recent survey conducted by Loup Ventures, it seems that demand for the upcoming iPhone 8 is high. The survey was conducted amongst 502 people in the US and out of all of those, 234 of them were iPhone owners. Within that group, the survey found that 23% of them had plans to upgrade to the iPhone 8 (it was referred to as the iPhone X in the survey).

According to Loup Managing Partner Gene Munster, “While it’s still early, interest in upgrading to the iPhone X appears to be meaningfully higher than upgrade interest was for the iPhone 7.” Why the interest? If you have been following the rumors, this is because the iPhone 8 is rumored to pack a bunch of new features as well as a brand new design.

We’re talking about the use of OLED display technology, a glass and aluminum chassis, an edge-to-edge display, possible facial recognition, and so on. No one can say for sure if these rumors are the real deal, but quite a few of them have come from notable sources who have been right in the past. In any case what do you guys think? Anyone planning on making an upgrade?
