When it comes to anime and manga, there are hundreds if not thousands to choose from which we can only imagine can be rather overwhelming for those who are new to the scene. However there are a handful of “classics” or popular animes that most people are familiar with, and Death Note is probably one of them.

The series has existed in both manga and anime forms, and it has even spawned several live action films in Japan as well as a musical, and given its popularity we guess it shouldn’t be a surprise to learn that Netflix has decided to pick it up and give it a Western remake, and the good news is that the teaser trailer is finally here.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Death Note involves a book which has the power to kill anyone whose name is written in it. The book was obtained by a student called Light who goes on a killing spree, while a detective called L is trying to catch him. The Netflix series will see Nat Wolff star as Light and Keith Stanfield as L, with Willem Dafoe lending his voice to the character of Ryuk.

From what we can tell the upcoming series on Netflix looks rather promising and is expected to be available on Netflix come 25th of August, 2017.
