The Sony PlayStation VR’s Aim Controller was initially supposed to be released around the holiday season with the Farpoint FPS game but that didn’t happen. PSVR owners have not been able to get their hands on the controller and the game because both have been delayed. However, they might be able to pick one up over the next couple of months. Farpoint developer Impulse Gear has said that the PSVR Aim Controller release is going to take place in May this year.

Impulse Gear said this earlier in the week at the Game Developers Conference 2017. It confirmed that the Farpoint game and Aim Controller will be released as a bundle on May 16th.

The bundle is already available for pre-order at GameStop, however, the retailer is showing an end of June release date which contradicts Impulse Gear’s information but one can possibly bank on the developer knowing a bit more than the retailer.

The PlayStation VR Aim Controller has a built-in color ball which allows for 1:1 aiming and it also features an analog stick for movement. However, bear in mind that there’s no way for the PlayStation VR headset to track the controller right now when you’re turned away from the camera. The game Farpoint has been developed with this limitation in mind.

So if the Farpoint developer’s information is correct, PlayStation VR owners will be able to pick the game and controller bundle which costs $80 in May.
