Sprint has confirmed that it has decided to discontinue its Direct 2 You phone delivery service. The service was launched back in 2015 in select cities across the United States and was subsequently expanded to additional markets. It was basically sending trained employees to meet customers at a time and place of their choosing. Sprint has confirmed that Direct 2 You has been shut down.

Sprint launched Direct 2 You back in April 2015, starting out in Kansas City before expanding to cities like San Francisco, New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, and others.

A spokesperson for the carrier called Direct 2 You a “great program,” adding that “It was a great experience and a great idea.” Sprint has decided to end this program because it needs to be more careful on where it invests its time and resources. “We believe that we have sufficient growth in our stores and other sales channels now,” the spokesperson added.

That’s correct as Sprint reported 368,000 postpaid phone net additions at the end of the fourth quarter of last year. Even though Sprint has decided to shut down this service right now this doesn’t mean that the carrier is completely closing the door on it.

The carrier’s spokesperson Dave Tovar told FierceWireless that “We plan to evolve this approach into something even better and more efficient.”
