With the introduction of iOS 10, Apple has kind of overhauled its Messages app. Where previously it was an app that allowed users to send and receive SMS or iMessages, the app now does much more and comes with its own app store and stickers where users can use it to spice up their conversations.

In fact Starbucks is getting on board with Messages as well as the company has announced that come this April, iPhone owners will be able to gift Starbucks purchases to other iOS users via the Messages app and through Apple Pay. Details of this feature were not revealed but it was confirmed at Starbucks’ annual shareholders’ meeting.

Presumably this gifting feature will be made available through a Messages integrated app, but exactly how it will function remains to be seen. The company has been missing from the Messages app save for a sticker pack, but we guess this will change things up. So if you do frequent Starbucks or you know someone who does, this gifting feature should be a nice addition for you to help perk up someone’s day.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for its availability so do check back with us in the coming weeks for additional details about the feature.
