V-MODA has launched a new product today called the REMIX. It claims that this is the world’s first Bluetooth speaker which features a built-in headphone amplifier. The speaker measures in at 8 inches long and weighs up to 1.9lbs, the weight depends on the type of finish the customer chooses. Even though it’s meant to be a portable speaker, you’ll certainly be aware of it when you’re carrying it on the go. Many might think that $300 is a bit too much for a Bluetooth speaker but V-MODA hopes that the top quality sound and unique features of the REMIX will be enough to make people pay the asking price.

The unique selling point of the REMIX is the built-in headphone amplifier that promises a 83mW x 2 output. In case you were wondering, that’s enough to drive high-impedance headphones. That’s really one of the reasons why this Bluetooth speaker costs as much as it does. A standalone headphone amplifier can cost around $200 so the cost of that is obviously built into the REMIX.

V-MODA also offers a variety of customization options to customers. They can have it with 3D printed parts to give it a unique look and feel. The custom parts will cost anywhere from $40 for a plastic front grill to $370,000 for solid platinum end caps.

The V-MODA REMIX promises 10 hours of battery life, it can double as a speakerphone, and even has the ability to sync with other REMIX speakers for a multi-room experience. The V-MODA REMIX Bluetooth speaker can be purchased starting today.
