While the concept of GIFs aren’t new, they seem to have gained popularity once again in the recent years. This is why GIF depositories such as Giphy are doing extremely well, and why many messaging apps and keyboard apps are starting to include the ability to send GIFs to your friends and family members.

Now VSCO isn’t exactly new to the GIF scene as the company had previously launched a GIF-making app called DSCO. If you’re unfamiliar with it we guess you can’t be blamed as VSCO is certainly a name that is more familiar, and perhaps that’s why the company has decided to bring its GIF-editing capabilities to its main VSCO app.

According to VSCO’s announcement, “Create and share DSCOs, now within VSCO on iOS. These animated, looping images are a fun and creative way to share your life. Capture a quick clip, add a preset, and post to your VSCO, directly from the in-app camera.” Capturing a GIF is easy as all you have to do is launch the camera function within the app, select “DSCO”, and click capture and you’re good to go.

After that users will be able to edit the GIF and share them either within VSCO itself or save it externally. This update is expected to begin rolling out in the next couple of weeks, so if GIFs are your jam then you might want to keep an eye out for its availability.
