The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an excellent game judging by its near-perfect reviews, however there have been some complaints by gamers regarding its performance on the Nintendo Switch. In handheld mode, the game seems to run fine, but for some reason when docked, the game does suffer from lower frame rates.

This means that in docked mode there might be instances in which the game isn’t as smooth as it could be. The good news is that Nintendo has since issued a patch for the game where it bumps it from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1. While Nintendo was not explicit in their patch notes, it has been noticed by gamers that  the patch does improve frame rates when docked.

One reddit user posted, “Went to a forest outside of the plateau with two Moblins where I had major FPS drops. Now have a consistent 30 there. It seems that there are still specific areas that tank your frames (the first cliff at the plateau, Kakariko, ect.) but I’ve never had that stable FPS during combat while randomly out in the world.”

There has also been a video uploaded onto YouTube by ElAnalistaDeBits in which it compares the patched version of the game alongside the previous version, which you can check for yourself in the video above.
