There are dozens, if not hundreds, or portable speakers available in the market today, so the question is how portable do you want it, what kind of design are you after, and how much are you willing to spend? If aesthetics are a priority, then you might be interested to learn that Bang & Olufsen has taken the wraps off its latest portable speaker in the form of the Beoplay P2.

Staying true to the company’s design roots, the Beoplay P2 has been pretty simplistically designed. It looks clean and minimalist and if those are the aesthetics you are going for, then these might be the speakers for you. In terms of specs, the P2 will feature a 0.75-inch tweeter and can blast sound out in 360-degrees, so placing it in the middle of the room should help fill it with audio, although admittedly given its size don’t expect too much.

With the Beoplay P2, the company has done away with pretty much all physical playback controls. Instead users will have to turn to the Beoplay app to control it. However if you’d rather not, not to worry as the shell of the speaker responds to touch, where you can double tap it or shake it to control music playback.

In terms of pricing, the Beoplay P2 is pretty pricey for its size as it is priced at $169. Then again this is Bang & Olufsen we’re talking about so no surprises there.
