Thanks to a leaked image from last month, it was suggested that Activision could be traveling back in time and release a Call of Duty title based on World War II. It turns out that the leaks and rumors were right because the official Call of Duty Twitter account has confirmed the existence of the game and will be revealing the details on the 26th of April, 2017.

Apart from the image and the confirmation that the game will be set in World War II, not much else is known about the upcoming title save that it will be developed by Sledgehammer Games. However it should be noted that a World War II setting isn’t new for the Call of Duty franchise as it has used a similar setting in past titles, so we are curious as to how this title will be any different from the rest.

It is also a rather interesting turn because last year, Infinite Warfare was set in the future and it seems that many gamers did not like the idea, although we guess seeing the trailer and playing the game are two very different things because it managed to top sales in 2016. In any case the official details will be revealed next week so check back with us then for more information. We’ve also been hearing the rumors that it could be released in November 2017.
