Following a couple of leaks and rumors, Activision has recently confirmed that the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise will indeed be based around World War 2 (which has been done before, so it’ll be interesting to see how they will approach this particular installment).

The official reveal has been set for the 26th of April which is next week, but thanks to a leaked advertisement it seems that some details regarding the game’s campaign and multiplayer have been revealed ahead of time. With the campaign, the ad says that it will be based on “the story of an unbreakable brother of common men fighting to preserve freedom in a world on the brink of tyranny.”

The multiplayer details includes the maps that gamers can expect which are based on well-known locations of World War 2 battles. It also says that there will be “exciting new ways to interact and socialize with their friends and the Call of Duty community.” If the ad is accurate, it also looks like customers who pre-order the game will be able to take part in a private beta.

In any case take it with a grain of salt but like we said, the official details will be revealed next week on the 26th of April, so check back with us then if you’d like to find out more about the next Call of Duty title.
