Back when Apple took the wraps off the (Product) RED iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and the new 9.7-inch iPad, the company also announced that they would be launching a new social video editing app in the form of Clips. For those who want to take the app for a spin, you’ll be pleased to learn that the app is now available for download.

Just in case you’re hearing about Clips for the first time, this is a new app launched by Apple that allows users to make edits to their videos and upload them onto various social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Vimeo. It will come with various filters and fun effects which we can only imagine is Apple’s answer to apps like Snapchat or Instagram.

However it has the added benefit of being able to recognize the people in your video based on people in your iOS Photos app, and from there it will be able to recommend users with whom they can share the video with. It is also capable of generating a soundtrack from start to end, so basically this takes a lot of work out from the user.

The app is a free download from the iTunes App Store where it will require users to at least own an iPhone 5s, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, or sixth-generation iPod touch. No word on whether it will eventually find its way onto Android, but for now it will remain as an iOS exclusive.
