The technology of virtual reality has unlocked many possibilities, especially in the field of gaming where gamers will now be able to experience and play games in a completely different way than before. For example first-person games like flying simulators can now be a more immersive and realistic experiencer thanks to VR.

It also paves the way for some pretty novel gaming concepts, such as Dragon Ball Z VR which has been officially announced in Japan. This is thanks to Japanese toy maker Mega House who will be releasing a Capsule Corporation branded VR headset that will be able to house a smartphone that allows gamers to play a mobile version of Dragon Ball Z in virtual reality.

To top it off, there will also be hand sensors and a VR mat to complete the experience, and in turn allow gamers to pull off some pretty interesting moves, as you can see for yourself in the video above that demonstrates how it works. Is it a novelty? We think it is, but for Dragon Ball fans out there it could prove to be a pretty fun experience, although we’re not sure if there are plans to release it worldwide.

Dragon Ball Z VR is expected to see a release this coming June in Japan where it will be priced at 12,000 yen (US$110).
