When it comes to robotic deliveries, what we have seen so far either involve the use of drones that can fly right to your doorstep, or robots that travel by ground/road that will roll up to your house to make a delivery. It seems like an “either or” situation right now, but a company calling themselves Advanced Tactics might have a solution for both.

The company has recently conducted a successful test of its Panther sUAS Air/Ground Robot which is a drone that can not only fly, but drive itself on the ground as well. What this means is that in the event that an aerial delivery is not possible, maybe due to obstruction or legal reasons, it can always switch to ground mode and it will drive up your doorway to make its delivery.

According to the company, they reassure potential customers that the Panther is small and light enough where it will not require an FAA waiver to operate, but that also means that bulkier/heavier deliveries are out of the question. It will be capable of handling up to 15lbs and has a range of 10 miles when on the ground, and has a flight time of 5-10 minutes.

This is admittedly kind of limiting, but with a price of $2,495 (currently discounted until the 5th of April), we guess it isn’t too expensive for delivery companies to consider investing into. If this is of interest to you, then head on over to its website for the details or check out the video above to see it in action.
