Most Instagram users tend to use the photo sharing app on their smartphones but an app is available for Windows 10 users who would rather browse the Facebook-owned service on their PCs. A new updated has been rolled out for the Instagram for Windows app which enables users on a Windows 10 PC to share photos and videos via direct messages on their PC.

You might think that the app would have this feature already but it has actually been missing from it for a very long time. Those who do use this app on a Windows 10 PC would have liked to have this feature available from the get go but that hasn’t been the case.

This basic feature which has long been available on mobile apps has just now made its way to Instagram for Windows. Instagram users on Windows 10 PC can now send direct messages that contain photos and videos stored on their PC’s hard drive to their contacts.

They can even capture a picture using the PC’s webcam if need be. It’s interesting to point out that while users can do this in direct messages, they still can’t snap a picture via the webcam and post it directly to their Instagram feed. That’s odd.

The feature is now live on Instagram for Windows and can be used right away.
