In the past few years we’ve noticed a trend in smartphone companies where they will release a flagship smartphone and will follow up with a “mini” variant. Usually this mini variant, as its name suggests, will be a smaller version for users who don’t really want a huge display. Sometimes there are changes to the hardware, but for the most part we’re talking about a smaller device.

In a report from TechnoBuffalo, they claim to have seen an internal document from LG in which it suggests that a mini version of the LG G6 could be in the works. The handset in question is rumored to sport a 5.4-inch display and has a screen-to-body ratio of under 80%. It is also rumored to maintain the 18:9 display aspect ratio that LG was boasting about with the LG G6, and is also close to what the Samsung Galaxy S8 uses (18.5:9).

Other than the display size, not much else is known about the rumored LG G6 Mini, such as whether or not it will maintain the same specs as its big brother, or if it will come with slightly watered down hardware in order for it to appeal to customers on a tighter budget. No word on when the LG G6 Mini could be announced, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled, although until we get the official word from LG, be sure to take it with a grain of salt.
