LinkedIn, now owned by Microsoft, today announced that it has crossed a major milestone. The social network for professionals now has more than half a billion members in 200 countries across the globe. The LinkedIn community continues to grow each year and the fact that it has achieved such a major milestone goes to show that LinkedIn has cemented its position in the online market.
The 500 million-strong LinkedIn community represents more than 10 million active jobs, access to over 9 million companies, and more than 100,000 articles that are published every week. The company shares in a post on its official blog that with each connection users make on LinkedIn, the total reach of their professional community increases.
Every connection reflects an average of 400 new people that users can get introduced to, encompasses 100 new companies, and represents connections to an average of more than 500 jobs.
The top 5 most connected countries include the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Singapore, United Kingdom, and Denmark while the 5 most connected places include London, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Greater Jakarta, and Milan.
LinkedIn has also said that it’s going to add personalized insights in the My Network tab for all users in the near future and that it’s going to provide more details about this new feature in the near future.
