Netflix has been around for a long time now and its services have definitely evolved over the years where they are now making their own TV series and movies. This has unsurprisingly led to an increase in the number of subscribers over the years, but Netflix expects that they will be able to hit a pretty major milestone by the weekend.

In a letter written to its shareholders, the company has expressed their belief that by this weekend, they should be able to hit the 100 million subscriber mark. According to the letter, it reads, “We expect to cross the 100 million member mark this weekend. It’s a good start.” The company’s CEO Reed Hastings also made sure to point out that Netflix’s subscribers do pale in comparison to the likes of YouTube and Facebook who have a billion or so users.

According to Hastings, “Our viewing is very large and growing, but nowhere near as big as YouTube. We definitely have YouTube envy.” That being said, this growth can probably be attributed to how  Netflix decided to make its services available worldwide when they began their expansion plans in January 2016, bringing the service to 130 new countries.

Their growth can also be attributed to hit TV series like the Marvel shows, Orange is the new Black, House of Cards, Stranger Things, and more.
