About a week ago, Blizzard posted a teaser announcement in which they planned on announcing something on the 11th of April. It was unclear as to what the announcement could be about, but it was speculated that it could be an event. Turns out the speculators were right, thanks to a recent leak.

It seems that thanks to the folks over at PlayStation France, they accidentally published a video a little earlier than expected which has resulted in the video already being removed, but not before it was revealed that Blizzard’s upcoming announcement is for an event that they are calling “Insurrection”.

Based on the translation of the description of the video, “For a limited time, we go back and offer to relive one of the key moments in the history of Overwatch. Rally your friends and accompany Tracer in his first mission during the King’s Row insurrection, our new co-operative shock or discover the origins of some of your favorite heroes with more than 100 new objects for Overwatch: Insurrection including models, Entries, emotes, tags, etc.! Overwatch archives have been declassified, but this will only last until May 1st.”

From what we can tell this event will be a short-term event that will run from the 11th of April until the 1st of May. The exact details are unclear given that this is based on a translation, but either way we should have all the official information (in English) tomorrow, so check back with us then if you’d like to find out more!
