We get why there are games developed for PC, and why there are games developed for consoles. However if you wished that you didn’t need to swap between devices to play different games, your wish could soon come true thanks to the development of an app called Rainway, an app that reportedly lets you stream PC games onto consoles or other devices.

According to its developer Andrew Sampson, “Rainway’s signature feature is that it’s available on any device with a web browser. You’ll simply visit play.rainway.io, log in, and kick back with your favorite games. Native apps for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and other platforms are being developed to provide an even more seamless experience.”

This means that you’ll be able to enjoy PC-only games on your console, although we guess playing some games using a gaming pad might offer up a slightly different experience. Sampson is also claiming that any modern PC is compatible and that no additional hardware will be required. “The best part is that practically any modern PC is compatible. You don’t need to purchase any additional computer hardware and did we mention that it’s free? That’s right, no more 50 dollar boxes or subscription fees, the Rainway experience will be available free of charge for life.”

The app has yet to be launched but as it stands there will be a beta that will be held on the 5th of May, so gamers who are interested in taking part can sign up via its website.
