SEGA and Creative Assembly have announced the launch of Total War: WARHAMMER 2. The new game is going to be released later this year on PC. It follows up on the hit real-time strategy game from last year and is the second title in the planned trilogy. It has been confirmed that the new game is going to provide players with hundreds of hours of gameplay in the new campaign mode which will be spread across four continents namely Ulthuan, Naggaroth, The Southlands and Lustria. That’s not all.

Soon after Total War: WARHAMMER 2 is released, a massive combined map is going to be rolled out which is going to feature both the old and new regions. However, to play this map, players will need to own both the original and the new title.

Ian Roxburgh, the game director, said that this new game represents the next step in this trilogy. The ambition has been increased by the success of the first game which is why the sequel doesn’t just deliver a thrilling campaign but also an additional combined campaign.

Players will fight for dominion over the ailing Great Vortex in the campaign mode with each race having to perform various rituals to save or disrupt the Vortex as per their motivations. “Territorial conquest is no longer enough… this is a race for control that will define the fate of the world!”

A release date has not yet been confirmed but at least there’s a cinematic trailer to mark the announcement which you can check out above.
