Even though the HTC One M9 wasn’t quite the success that HTC would have wanted it to be, there are still quite a lot of people out there who continue to use this device. Those who own it on Sprint will be delighted to find out today that the carrier has now started rolling out the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update for the HTC One M9. Sprint is rolling out said update over-the-air starting today.

Software version number 4.27.651.4 is being rolled out by Sprint for the HTC One M9. It’s a hefty update given that it bumps up the core Android OS to version 7.0 Nougat.

All of the features that you’ve come to expect from Android 7.0 Nougat can be found on board, including but not limited to the user interface tweaks, multi-window view, customizable quick settings menu, an improved notifications experience, and more.

The HTC One M9 is over two years now which means that this is going to be the last major Android platform update that it receives. Android smartphones are generally not supported for major updates beyond the two-year mark.

So those who are still holding onto their HTC One M9s on Sprint can get a taste of the latest version of Android on it for the last time, they’ll have to switch to a more recent device if they want access to future versions of Android.
