Given the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch, you’ll be able to play it pretty much anywhere you go. However for those who prefer connecting to a TV, there’s always the dock that will help you do that. But what if you had multiple TVs and you didn’t want to play in just one location? That’s where additional docks will come in handy.

The good news is that Nintendo has recently announced that come 19th of May, standalone Nintendo Switch docks will be sold in the US. However the company did note that they will be available in “limited quantities”, so we guess gamers will have to most fast if they hope to secure them before they are sold out. Presumably there are supply constraints, but that should ease up in the later months, so you could always wait if the initial batch is sold out.

Nintendo had previously envisioned how the Switch could become so ubiquitous that in time, docks will be so commonplace that checking into a hotel means you could just dock your Switch and play on the hotel’s TV, and we guess making these standalone docks available is a step in that direction.

The standalone dock is priced at $90 and will be available from Nintendo’s website on the 19th of May. They will also be available from retailers although no specific retailers were specified, but it should be your usual suspects.
