Many apps offer users with a night mode these days as people tend to use their phones in their bed at night before they fall asleep. The bright colors in an app that doesn’t offer a night mode can be uncomfortable in that particular setting which is why we are seeing more and more apps adopt this feature. According to a new report, Twitter is testing an automatic night mode setting which will switch on by itself at sunset.

According to the report, Twitter has already seeded this feature to a select group of users. They are seeing a pop up in the app which suggests that they can set night mode to work automatically.

If they tap on “Yes,” night mode will then automatically turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. This is an extension of the dark UI mode that Twitter added to its app last year. This appears to be a server-side change that’s limited to only a few Twitter users at this point in time.

The company is obviously conducting a test on this feature and if everything goes as planned, we might see it roll out the automatic night mode feature to all users in the near future.
