When it comes to prepaid, sometimes the rates and features you get aren’t quite as good as postpaid. However the upside is that you aren’t necessarily locked into a particular carrier and it is usually cheaper since you get to choose when you want to reload your credits. Now if you are a prepaid customer on Verizon, we’ve got some good news for you guys.

The carrier has recently announced that they will be bringing unlimited data plans to prepaid customers for $80. This plan will also include unlimited text messages to over 200 international destinations, and you guys will also be able to make unlimited international calls to countries such as Mexico and Canada.

According to Tami Erwin, executive vice president of operations for Verizon, “In just months, Verizon has transformed its prepaid offerings to make it easier and more affordable for customers to get access to the best network at a great value, no matter how much data they need. This plan is all about giving our prepaid customers more choice. With data plans from as little as 2 GB to unlimited data, we’ve got a plan that fits your needs.”

If this sounds too good to be true, there will be a couple of catches. For starters unlimited data will see users limited to video streaming resolutions capped at 480p, but if you’re not fussed then we guess that shouldn’t be an issue. There will also be no tethering so as not to invite abuse of the unlimited data, but that’s to be expected. If this sounds good, then head on over to Verizon to sign up.
