There has been a lot of hype surrounding the new handset that Xiaomi has in the pipeline and the company today gave the rumor mill a rest by at least confirming when it’s going to officially launch the handset. The company confirmed today that it’s going to officially unveil the Xiaomi Mi 6 next week. This is going to be Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone so it’s no doubt being eagerly awaited by its fans.

Previous reports have suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 6 is going to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. It may also feature a rather unimpressive 5.1 inch full HD display.

The company is also expected to launch a 5.7 inch Mi 6 Plus model as well. Since cutting down on bezels is in fashion this year, we’ve seen the likes of Samsung and LG really take this to heart, and Xiaomi is expected to stick to that trend with the Mi 6.

Xiaomi has confirmed today that the Mi 6 is going to be officially launched on April 19th. That’s when we’ll get all of the information about the handset’s specifications and features.

It remains to be seen if Xiaomi launches its new flagship smartphone in markets other than China, and if it’s ever going to launch it in the United States particularly.
