Destiny 2 For The PC Will Only Be Released After The Console Launch

Yesterday the folks at Bungie announced Destiny 2, the sequel to Destiny that was released several years ago. One of the more exciting parts of the announcement was the fact that the game would be launched on the PC (and exclusively available via Blizzard’s Battle.net platform).

The game was announced for a release on the 8th of September, 2017, but it turns out there is a catch. As it turns out the PC release of Destiny 2 will not take place on the 8th of September, but instead it will be launched at a later date. We knew that there would exclusive PS4 content and we’re not sure if this might have anything to do with the PC version being launched later.

However according to Destiny 2’s creative director Luke Smith who spoke to PC Gamer, it seems that maybe extra work needs to be done on the PC version before it is released, hence the “delay”. “We’re not committed to a PC date yet. Our partnership with Blizzard and being on Battle.net, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it’s a delicious piece of bread when it comes out.”

According to the FAQ on Blizzard’s website, more details are expected to be shared later this year. “Bungie is actively working through the global details. We look forward to sharing additional information later this year.”
