Facebook’s core function is to enable you to keep in touch with your friends and family. However, the social network powers far more than just a platform that lets people send messages to each other. It has ambitions to further expand and that’s evident from the fact that it has now added an “Order Food” option in its main navigation space. This new option gets prime real estate on Facebook.

The Order Food option in Facebook enables users to order food from restaurants without having to use another delivery service, opening another app or even moving to another website. Everything can be done from straight within Facebook. This feature has only been rolled out to select users at this point in time.

Users who get this feature will notice a colorful hamburger icon on desktop and mobile. They can then use this option to either place orders for food pickup or for delivery using Slice or Delivery.com.

The entire process takes place on Facebook itself. Users will not move away from the social network for one second no matter what they want to order for pickup or delivery.

While Facebook has confirmed that the Order Food option is the result of the partnership that it announced with Slice and Delivery.com in October last year, it didn’t say when this option started going live for users in the United States and when it’s going to be rolled out for all users across the country.
