It has been two years since Google launched Google Photos. It’s now being used by more than 500 million people every month to back up over 1.2 billion photos and videos every single day. The service continues to grow and it’s only right for Google to make improvements. The company today announced that it’s adding three new features to Google Photos so that it’s easier for users to share the moments they care about.
The suggested sharing feature will rely on Google’s machine learning technology and not only remind users to share their photos, it will even automatically select the right photos to share and suggest the user who to send them to. All they need to do then is tap on the send button. This feature will be rolled out to Google Photos on iOS, Android, and the web in the coming weeks.
Google Photos gets a Shared Libraries feature which allows users to automatically send and receive photos with one other person. So they can use this feature to give access to their full photo library to a family member or special friend. It takes the pain out of nagging your partner to share all of the photos that they took of your weekend trip together with you.
Photo albums are not really in fashion these days yet they did serve a novel purpose back in the day. Google Photos has a Photo Books feature now which can create high-quality digital photo albums with a clean and modern design.
Google Photos will automatically find the best shots to place in that digital album and if users want a print out, they can even place an order for the shots to be printed. Photo books are rolling out today for users in the United States. A 20-page softcover book is going to cost $9.99 while the hardcover will cost $19.99. Photo books will be expanded to other countries soon.
