Based on the launch of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL last year, it is safe to assume that this year Google could follow suit with two more new devices. However according to recent rumors, we could be getting more than we bargained for with a third device whose codename “Taimen” was mentioned in the past.

If you’re wondering about the existence of Taimen, it seems that the device was spotted yet again, this time on Geekbench where it was seen running Android O, the latest build of Android. This really shouldn’t be surprising as Google’s flagship phones typically launch with the latest version of Android installed on it.

Also according to the benchmarks, the handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 clocked at 1.9GHz. Once again this isn’t surprising especially when you consider the fact that the Snapdragon 835 is the flagship chipset for Qualcomm for 2017, and it was also revealed in an earlier report that all of Google’s Pixel phones of 2017 will be powered by the chipset.

In any case take it with a grain of salt since benchmarks can be faked, but it definitely lends credence to the rumors and speculation as to existence of the device. Whether or not we’re looking at a third Pixel handset or a separate device entirely still remains to be seen.
