Google has made a product called the Jamboard which is aimed at enterprise customers that want their employees to work together and collaborate with their teammates for enhanced creativity. Jamboard is a cloud-based collaborative whiteboard that Google has made just for this purpose. It’s now available for purchase in the United States.

Whiteboards have long been a fixture in offices for the purposes of collaboration. Who hasn’t used a dry erase marker in brainstorming sessions with their teammates? Google wants to modernize collaborative brainstorming with Jamboard.

Jamboard is powered by NVIDIA’s Jetson TX1 chip and has a 55 inch 4K touchscreen display. The display has been developed for fast touch response and low-latency stylus input. It works with G Suite to bring in all files and documents from Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This enables all team members to work together simultaneously.

The price tag itself is enough to show that this is meant for enterprise customers. At $5000, it isn’t exactly cheap, and that’s just the starting price. A rolling stand costs $1199, if the customer doesn’t want to mount it on a wall. There’s even a $300 yearly fee over and above the fee for the G Suite enterprise apps.

Google tested the Jamboard with enterprise early adopters like Pinterest, Dow Jones, and Whirpool and they found that the Jamboard helped their teams collaborate more efficiently.

Jamboard is available for purchase in the United States today and will be released in Canada and the United Kingdom in a few months.
