If you’re a fan of the Far Cry franchise and wouldn’t mind getting your hands on the next installment, you might be interested to learn that the next title could be released in September. This is according to a report from the Great Falls Tribune (via VG247) in which a film crew was spotted filming for a trailer for an unannounced game.

The location of the shoot was set near a church in the Montana prairie, which has since led to speculation that the next Far Cry game could have some kind of Wild West setting. According to Jeff Guillot, who is a producer on the shoot, he confirmed that this is for a game that is set for a release in September.

He also hinted that it is “a sequel to an existing global franchise.” As to how this is tied in with Far Cry, it has been pointed out that Guillot has in the past worked with Ubisoft for promo campaigns for some of their games, so for him to return to work with Ubisoft again doesn’t seem  like a stretch.

Recently there has been speculation that Ubisoft could have teased the next Far Cry game, but in any case we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime E3 2017 will be taking place later next month so if there is a perfect platform for an announcement, that would be it.
