At the moment it really is anyone’s guess as to whether or not the OnePlus 5 will have a headphone jack. In a photo that was uploaded last week, it showed the bottom portion of the handset in which there did not appear to be a headphone jack. It is possible that the headphone jack is on the top, but it would be impossible to confirm that for now.

To add to the confusion is OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei who may or may not have hinted that the handset might have a headphone jack. In one of his tweets, Pei wrote in response to a question by a customer who asked where the headphone jack went. “Why did the headphone jack cross the road?”

So what does this mean? This seems to have suggest that the headphone jack might have “crossed the road”, as in to indicate that it is gone. Pei also later sent out another tweet that linked to a GSMArena article that interpreted his original tweet to mean that the headphone jack is “safe”, to which Pei responded by saying, “Looks I gotta be more careful with my tweets… 😕”

If you’re a bit confused we can’t blame you, but then again we guess Pei doesn’t want to come right out and say it ahead of the phone’s announcement which is said to be around summer. In any case what do you guys think? If it were to launch without a headphone jack, would you still be interested in it?
