In Overwatch there are several different game modes that players can play in. One of those modes that was introduced as part of the anniversary was a 3v3 Lockout Elimination Arcade Mode, but it seems that the mode has been so well-received that some gamers have been asking Blizzard to make a competitive version out of it.

So the question is, will they? The good news for fans is that Blizzard is not completely closed to the idea. While the developer is not making any promises, it looks like they’re somewhat open to the possibility in the future, as stated by Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan in a post on the forums.

According to Kaplan’s post, “Glad you’re liking it! We will consider creating a competitive version. I think it’s still a little early to tell if the mode is stable and balanced enough to host a competitive version. We’re keeping a really close eye on it and playing it ourselves.” Like we said, no promises are being made but we guess this is still pretty good news anyway.

It remains to be seen if Blizzard will follow through, but as is with all changes made to the game, there will be testing and balancing involved so if and when Blizzard does make up their mind, we guess you shouldn’t expect it so soon.
