Earlier this week when Bungie announced that Destiny 2 would be arriving for the PC, they also revealed that that there would be an advantage to playing the game on the PC, which is that if you have necessary hardware, you’ll be able to run the game at a smooth 60fps, if not even higher.

The console version of the other hand would be locked at 30fps, even the PS4 Pro which is supposed to be a more powerful version of the PS4. However speaking to PC Gamer, it seems that the PS4 Pro was not capable of running the game at 60fps due to apparently there not being enough horsepower.

According to the game director David Shaw, “It will not run at 60 on the Pro. I don’t want people to continue to hope, we’re going to be matter-of-fact about stuff like this… The PS4 Pro is super-powerful, but it couldn’t run our game at 60. Our game’s this rich physics simulation, with collision and players, networking etc. It wouldn’t run. Not enough horsepower there yet.”

However we should note that the game will run at 4K resolution at 30fps, so we guess while the frame rate won’t be buttery smooth, playing it on the PS4 Pro should result in better quality textures.
