Last month it was noticed in the WhatsApp beta that the developers were looking to introduce a new feature to the app in the form of pinned chats. For those who are unfamiliar or might have missed the news, basically what this does is that it allows users to pin up to three chats to the top of the list.

This means that regardless of new messages that roll in, those chats will always remain at the top. This can be handy if there are chats that are important that you don’t want to miss. That being said, it seems that the feature is now out of beta and rolling out to Android users, so if you have an Android device and use WhatsApp, do keep an eye out for the update.

According to WhatsApp, “With pinned chats, you never have to worry about scrolling through the long list of conversations to text your family members or your best friend. Users can now pin up to three of the most important group or individual chats to the top of their chat list for easy access – simply tap and hold a chat, and then tap the pin icon at the top of your screen.”

As for iOS users, it seems that the feature isn’t live for you guys yet so we guess you’ll just have to wait, but we reckon it probably shouldn’t be too long before the update finds its way to you.
