If you’ve been meaning to purchase the game Alan Wake, you might want to hurry up or you won’t be able to get your hands on it. Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that it will no longer be possible to buy Alan Wake after May 15th because that’s when the game is going to be pulled from online and all retail stores.

Developer Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that it’s going to pull Alan Wake from the Xbox Store and Steam on Monday, May 15th. It’s having to do this because the music licenses for the game are expiring.

Remedy says that it’s currently in the process of relicensing the game’s music but it can’t say for sure how long that’s going to take. The game will not be available for purchase until such time as the licenses are renegotiated.

The game’s spin-off title, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, will remain available for purchase as Remedy was able to renegotiate the music licenses for that game earlier.

Those who already own Alan Wake have nothing to worry about. Even though Remedy will be unable to sell it, customers who purchased it previously will be able to keep playing the game as they’ve done so for a long time.

Remedy is offering the game for a 90 percent discount right now so that anyone who wants to buy Alan Wake can do so at the very low price of $1.99. It has discounted the game itself, all DLC content, and the American Nightmare spin-off by 90 percent. The sale is going to be live until tomorrow on Steam and the Xbox Store.
