Apple confirmed its foray into original TV content a few months back. Planet of the Apps was one of the first original TV series that the company confirmed it was working on. Apple is going to deliver its original content over iTunes. Months after confirming the series, Apple has now released the first episode of Planet of the Apps on iTunes.

Those who want to watch the first episode can now do so via iTunes, provided that they subscribe to Apple Music, the company’s music streaming service. Original content is part of Apple’s strategy to further promote Apple Music in the highly competitive music streaming market.

The first episode of Planet of the Apps has a runtime of 50 minutes. The concept of the show is similar to Shark Tank in that entrepreneurs make pitches before a panel of experts. In Planet of the Apps, the panel is made up of celebrities and entrepreneurs are pitching their apps.

The panel for Planet of the Apps includes Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Will.i.am and Gary Vaynerchuk. Zane Lowe is the in-house host. Lightspeed Venture Partners might be the possible investor for entrepreneurs who demonstrate an idea that can be transformed into a business.

The first season of Planet of the Apps is going to have ten episodes. Apple is going to release a new episode every Tuesday.
